Information we use

• Accounts: your email address, name, sign-in records and session information so you can access and secure your account.
• Public pages: details you add to a person or studio profile, photos, work credits and jobs. We also maintain studio listings researched from publicly available information. Public pages may be seen and indexed by search engines.
• Messages and applications: information you put in an enquiry, job application, claim or support email. We send an enquiry to the relevant studio owner when it has claimed its listing; enquiries for unclaimed listings go to the Shootbest administrator. Job applications are visible to the poster.
• Operation and safety: request information such as IP addresses, and records needed to deliver email, limit abuse, verify forms and troubleshoot the service.
• Analytics: if you accept analytics, Google Analytics and PostHog use cookies or browser storage to measure visits, campaign sources and actions such as browsing jobs, opening original hiring posts and completing forms. We do not send form contents, email addresses, phone numbers, sign-in codes or application messages to PostHog. Some public home, job and blog pages may have sampled session recordings with text and inputs masked; account and sign-in pages are excluded.

How we use and share it

We use this information to run profiles and listings, connect people about work, send sign-in codes and service notices, review claims and submissions, respond to requests, and protect the site. Public profile, studio and job details are shared on the site. Private enquiry and application details are shared with the intended recipient and Shootbest administrators as needed to operate or resolve issues.

Cloudflare hosts the site and provides storage, email delivery and the Turnstile spam check. A page may also load content from third-party sites when it contains an external link or embed. Those services may process requests under their own policies.

If you accept analytics, Google processes usage data for us. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. PostHog processes product usage data for us; see PostHog’s privacy policy. Declining analytics does not affect access to Shootbest.

Connecting Instagram

If Instagram connection is available to your account, you can authorize Shootbest to read your Business or Creator profile and media. We use this access to let you choose individual photos, including photos inside carousel posts, for your public person profile. Only the photos you select are displayed. We do not request access to messages, comments, insights, or publishing.

We store your Instagram account ID and username, an encrypted access token, and the IDs, source links, temporary image URLs and order of your selected photos. We refresh authorization and photo references while your connection is active. Photos load from Instagram’s delivery servers, which receive your browser’s request when the photos are displayed. We do not import these photos into our upload storage.

You can remove selected photos or disconnect Instagram from your profile editor. Disconnecting deletes the connection, its access token and Instagram-derived photos from Shootbest; your uploaded photos stay. Deleting your person profile or account also removes this Instagram data. We process Meta’s authorized deletion and deauthorization requests. A deletion confirmation code is kept for up to 30 days so you can check its status.

If authorization expires or we detect that it has been revoked, your Instagram photos stop displaying. Photos also stop displaying after 48 hours without successful availability checks. Reconnecting requires choosing your photos again. A photo that becomes unavailable on Instagram may also stop displaying on Shootbest. See data deletion instructions.

Keeping information

Account and content records remain while they are needed to provide the service. Some records may be kept for security, dispute handling or legal obligations after a page changes or is removed. Public search results and third-party copies may take time to update after we change a page.

We remove enquiry phone numbers, email addresses and messages after 18 months, while keeping the enquiry rows for counts.

Your choices

You can edit your own profile and photos, and a claimed studio owner can update its listing. To ask about your information, correct a researched listing, or request removal of a page or account, contact us. Include the page link and enough information for us to check the request. Studio invitation emails include an unsubscribe link.

You can delete your person profile or account yourself in Settings.

You can change your analytics choice at any time.
